What inspired you to make this project?
After a long time in software, I’ve been inspired more recently to finally try my hand at hardware, mostly driven by a lot of learning after acquiring and building out an old VW camper. Inside of a few months, I learned woodworking, propane gas fitting, DC electric and solar, and plumbing (not to mention the auto work side of things, both mechanical and auto body repair), and then turned to Arduino and Raspberry Pi to dabble some more. I’m an accomplished public speaking, and I’ve often found that the best and most engaging talks are those where I proposed something that I had not yet built or figured out, then accomplished while making the talk. Then the ideas and, more importantly, the learning process are fresher in my mind and more readily shared.
